About Flowmingo
What an AI interviewer is, how it helps recruiters, and how candidates feel about it.
An AI interviewer is software that runs the first round of interviews for you.
It asks your questions aloud, follows up when an answer is incomplete, and returns a recording, a full transcript and a score against the criteria you set. With Flowmingo, you share a single link, each applicant takes the interview in their own time, and the Free plan includes unlimited interviews.
Flowmingo runs the repetitive first round of interviews for you, so you can:
- Save the hours usually spent asking the same opening questions.
- Shortlist faster, because every answer arrives already scored against your criteria.
- Skip scheduling, because applicants interview in their own time.
- Give every applicant the same structured interview.

Getting started and switching
How to set up your first role and invite candidates, and how Flowmingo works beside the tools you already use.
No, you can keep your current ATS and use Flowmingo only for screening.
You send the interview link, and the recording, transcript and scored report come back to you. A developer can connect Flowmingo to your ATS for free, so results reach it automatically, and Flowmingo also includes its own applicant tracker if you would like one.
Flowmingo offers 3 ways to connect, all free on every plan: a REST API, webhooks and MCP.
Webhooks notify your system when an event occurs, and MCP lets an AI assistant read your hiring data directly. There is no native sync with Greenhouse, Lever or Workday today, so teams connect these systems through the API.
Your first role can be live within minutes, without help from our team.
Create an account with no credit card and no sales call, paste your job description, and the AI drafts between 1 and 30 interview questions from it. Review and edit the questions, then share a single link with candidates. There is no software to install.
No.
Creating an account requires only your company name, your name, a work email and a password, with no payment details and no sales call. You can send your first interview link to applicants on the same day you sign up.
Recruiters send an interview link and read the scored report.
Candidates open the link in a browser and complete the sign-in or email-verification steps shown. Standard email sign-up requires a password; eligible company-branded links use an email code. There is no software for candidates to install.
You can share a single link, invite people by email, or upload a spreadsheet of names and email addresses, and a developer can also invite candidates through the API.
The link can be open to anyone who has it, or limited to the people you invited. Each candidate then takes the interview in their own time, on a phone or a laptop.

Pricing and what free means
What the Free plan includes, what the paid plans add, and why there is no charge per candidate.
Yes, Flowmingo is really free: the Free plan is permanent, not a trial.
It includes unlimited AI interviews, CV evaluation, skills tests and the full applicant tracker at $0, with unlimited team members and no end date. No credit card is required, nothing expires after a trial period, and there is no charge per candidate.
Many AI interview vendors quote per interview or per year and do not publish their prices.
Flowmingo publishes its own: Free is $0 with unlimited interviews and unlimited team members, Starter is $49 a month and Growth is $99 a month. The paid plans add longer video storage, custom branding and downloads, not more screening.
A paid plan pays for longer video storage, custom branding, downloads and longer assessments.
Paid plans keep videos for longer, let you put your own brand on the links you share, let you download reports and transcripts as files, and let each assessment run longer than Free allows (an AI interview can run up to 20 minutes on Free, 30 on Starter and 60 on Growth). Screening is not part of the fee: unlimited AI interviews, CV evaluation and tests are all included on the Free plan.
No.
There is no charge per candidate, so a role that attracts 40 applicants costs the same as one that attracts 4,000. There are no interview credits to top up and no limit on team members. The only per-session cost is optional, sponsoring a session to remove Flowmingo's branding, at $0.39 to $0.49 each.
It is small and visible: on a free session, candidates see Flowmingo's brand beside yours, and they may be shown optional offers meant for them.
You can remove both by sponsoring a session, which costs $0.49 per session on Free, $0.44 on Starter and $0.39 on Growth. Nothing about the screening itself is reduced on Free.
Candidates can take and submit your interview without paying.
After the interview, they may be offered optional paid services, including retaking individual answers or viewing a detailed assessment report. These purchases are separate from completing the original interview. The price is shown before payment.

How the AI asks and follows up, and what you receive when a candidate finishes.
Candidates open the interview link in a browser, complete the sign-in or email-verification steps shown, and answer the AI's spoken questions on camera.
Standard email sign-up requires a password; eligible company-branded links use an email code. Nothing needs installing, and candidates complete the interview in their own time.
Yes, the AI asks follow-up questions.
When an answer does not address the question, it asks a follow-up on the same topic before moving on, so an incomplete first answer is not the end of that topic. Both the original answer and the follow-up appear in the transcript, and the score reflects the whole exchange.
The questions come from your job description.
Paste it in, and the AI drafts between 1 and 30 questions based on it, which you can then edit, reorder or replace. The questions belong to you rather than to a generic question bank, and the same set goes to every applicant for the role, which keeps the scores comparable.
You receive the recording, the full transcript and a report that rates each of your criteria from 0 to 10.
Every rating includes written reasons, strengths and gaps, plus a recommendation and the candidate's rank among everyone who took the same interview. Scoring starts as soon as the interview ends.
Each interview is scored as soon as the candidate completes it, so the wait depends on when candidates take it.
Across 29,946 invitation batches in the 180 days to 28 September 2026, 52.7% had a first scored result within 24 hours. When a result came back, half arrived within 46 minutes.
Yes.
Each criterion is weighted by importance, from Good to Have up to Must Have, so a must-have counts for more than a nice-to-have in the final rating. This prevents a candidate who is strong only on minor criteria from outranking one who is strong on the requirements that matter most for the role.
AI interviews suit high-volume, entry to mid-level roles, where the first round repeats the same questions for many applicants and those questions come directly from the job description.
They are not a good fit for the final round of a senior hire. Teams use them to decide who moves on to a human interview, not to replace it.
Yes, candidates can take the interview in a phone browser without installing an app.
They still complete the sign-in or email-verification steps shown. Standard email sign-up requires a password; eligible company-branded links use an email code. A desktop with Chrome is recommended when available.

CV screening
How CVs are scored against your criteria, and how CV screening works with the interview.
Yes, CV screening is free and unlimited on every plan.
Flowmingo drafts weighted criteria from your job description, scores every CV against them out of 10 and writes out the evidence behind each score. CV screening uses the same criteria as the interview, so the 2 results can be compared directly.
A keyword filter asks whether a word is present.
Flowmingo scores each CV against your weighted criteria out of 10 and writes the reasons, so you see why a candidate scored what they did and can disagree with it. A keyword rule silently drops the person who described the same experience in different words.
No.
CV evaluation is unlimited on every plan, including Free, with no per-CV charge and no monthly credits to run out of. The cost stays the same in a month with 3,000 applicants as in a month with 30, so a busy hiring period never raises your bill.
No, you can use both.
CV screening narrows the field, and the interview shows what a CV cannot. Both are free and unlimited, both score against the same weighted criteria from your job description, and both results appear on the same candidate record.

Skills tests
Multiple-choice tests, scored automatically, with each result beside the interview report.
Yes, Flowmingo includes multiple-choice skills tests, free and unlimited on every plan, with no credits and no per-candidate charge.
Tests are scored automatically, and each result appears beside the same candidate's interview report and CV score, so you review 1 record instead of 3 separate tools.
Yes.
The camera, microphone and screen are monitored during the test, and any signals are shown to you for review. Signals are never applied as an automatic penalty: there is no timer that fails a candidate, and nobody is rejected by the system because of a signal. Your team decides what each signal means.

Role-play and work samples
Conversations with an AI character, and screen recordings of candidates doing the work.
An AI role-play assessment is a scenario in which the candidate talks with an AI character that has its own demands and objections, in their own time.
It suits sales, support and any role built around conversations. You receive a score against your criteria, the recording and the transcript, in the same report format as an interview.
Yes, that is what Showcase is for.
Candidates screen-record themselves working through tasks you set, with one take each, in their own time. You receive every recording with a clickable transcript, and your team rates it. Showcase shows whether a candidate can do the work, which a CV cannot.

Your ATS, API and integrations
The built-in applicant tracker, and how results reach the systems you already use.
Yes, the applicant tracker is included on the Free plan, with pipeline stages, notes, ratings and unlimited team members.
A small team does not need to buy a separate ATS to use the screening. If you already use an ATS, you can keep it and send results to it through the API.
No, there is no native one-click sync with Greenhouse, Lever or Workday today.
Flowmingo offers a REST API, webhooks and MCP, free on every plan, which teams use to send candidates into Flowmingo and bring scored results back into the systems they already use.
No.
The REST API, webhooks and MCP are free on every plan, including the $0 Free plan, with no integrations tier and no connector fee. Your data can always leave Flowmingo at no cost, so you can connect it to any system you use.
Yes, through MCP, which is free on every plan.
An AI assistant you already use can query your Flowmingo data directly, including candidates, scores and pipeline stages, and answer questions about a role without anyone exporting a spreadsheet first. MCP gives the same access as the API, in a format an assistant can use.

Scoring, fairness and bias
How each score is produced and checked, and how possible cheating is flagged for your team.
No.
Flowmingo returns a score with its reasons, and every decision stays with your team. Nobody is rejected automatically. The recording and full transcript sit behind every rating, so your team can check any score against what the candidate said and override it.
It is fairer in one specific, checkable way: every candidate receives the same questions and is scored against the same written criteria, with the reasoning recorded.
This removes the variation between different interviewers and different days. It does not make bias impossible, and we have not measured the size of the effect on Flowmingo.
It can be, if it replaces human contact entirely, with no human review, no explanation and automatic rejection.
Used as a first round, it often helps candidates: every applicant is assessed instead of only the first 50 CVs, and nobody is excluded for being unavailable at a set time. Let candidates know that a person reviews the results before any decision.
Some candidates may try, so Flowmingo flags the common signs for your team to review: tab switches, a second window, screenshot shortcuts, an extra monitor, and missing or additional faces on camera.
A signal is never applied as an automatic penalty, and nobody is rejected by the system. Your team reviews each signal alongside the recording.
No, Flowmingo is built to support recruiters, not replace them.
The AI runs the repetitive first-round interviews and scores each one against your criteria, so recruiters can focus on the shortlist: building relationships with candidates, judging team fit and making the final hiring decisions. Every decision about who moves forward stays with your team.
Every rating comes with its written reasons, strengths and gaps, and the recording and full transcript sit beside it.
You can read what the candidate said and disagree with the score. Flowmingo shows the evidence behind every number, so no score has to be taken on trust.
No.
The overall score rates the candidate's answers, taken from a transcript, against your requirements, plus their CV if they sent one, and nothing about their face or appearance is scored. Grammar and fluency are shown separately as communication ratings and do not count toward the overall score. Transcripts can mishear accents, and the recording sits beside every transcript for your team to check.

Candidate experience
What candidates need, when they can take part, and which languages they can use.
Candidates open the interview link in a browser, with nothing to install.
Standard email sign-up asks for their name, email and a password, followed by email verification. Eligible company-branded interview links ask for their name, email and a verification code without a password. Returning candidates follow the sign-in options shown.
Yes, there is no appointment to keep.
Candidates open the link and record whenever it suits them, including evenings and weekends. This allows people who already have a job, or who work shifts, to take a first-round interview without taking time off.
Candidates can interview in 60+ languages on every plan, including Free, and you choose which languages each role allows.
The candidate picks one of those, and the AI asks questions, follows up and scores in that language. This avoids screening on English fluency for roles that do not require it.
The main benefit for candidates is flexibility: they take the interview when they are ready, instead of arranging a time that suits both sides.
They can also do it outside working hours, without taking time off from a current job. Flowmingo offers them a practice run first, an introduction that explains what will happen, and 60+ languages to answer in.

Data, privacy and security
Who owns candidate data, what is kept on every plan, and what happens if you stop paying.
The company doing the hiring owns its candidate data.
The recordings, transcripts and reports belong to you, not to us, and Flowmingo's own legal documents govern how the platform handles them. Results and transcripts are kept on every plan including Free; only how long the video file stays viewable changes.
No.
Results, scores and transcripts stay on every plan, including Free, as your hiring record. Any money left in your wallet stays yours and can still be spent at Free-plan prices, for example on sponsored sessions. Videos beyond the Free plan's time limit are locked rather than deleted, and they become available again if you upgrade.
Flowmingo complies with international data protection standards (GDPR, SOC-2).
Candidate videos, CVs, and evaluation data are encrypted and accessible only to authorized recruiters.

Agencies and clients
How to share scored candidates with a client, and how your brand appears on what they see.
Yes.
The client link lets you send a client the full scored report with the candidate's contact details and CV hidden and the name shown as initials. The Free plan also includes unlimited team members and no charge per candidate, so taking on a high-volume brief does not raise your costs.
Yes, on a paid plan.
Starter puts your company branding on the links you share, and Growth also lets you share them on your own domain. On the Free plan, candidates see Flowmingo beside your brand, and sponsoring a session removes Flowmingo's branding for that candidate. Custom branding is one of the features the plan fee pays for.

How the interview works
The questions, the time it takes, practice, retakes, and what happens after you finish.
Yes, you can take a free practice interview before your real one.
It runs in the same format, so you can become familiar with how the AI asks questions and the kinds of questions you may be asked. This helps you feel more comfortable and confident when your real interview begins.
The questions are set by the hiring company for the role you applied for, based on its job description.
Expect a mix of questions about your experience, how you would handle specific situations, and the skills the role requires. The AI may ask a follow-up question when an answer does not fully cover what was asked.
The length depends on the role, because each hiring company sets its own questions.
You will see the estimated time before you begin, so you can choose a moment when you have enough time to finish. You can open your interview link whenever it suits you, within any deadline the company has set.
Your recording, transcript and scored report are shared with the hiring team at the company you applied to.
They review your answers, decide the next steps and contact you directly. Flowmingo does not make hiring decisions, so for updates on your application, please wait to hear from that company.
Some interviews offer an optional paid retake of your answers when you finish, and the offer appears on screen if it is available.
If a technical issue stopped you from finishing, such as a lost connection or a camera that would not start, contact our support team at contact@flowmingo.ai with the email address you used. They can reopen the interview on your original link at no cost.
Your score is based on what you say, not on your accent.
The AI rates a transcript of your answers against the role's requirements, and the hiring team also sees separate ratings for communication, such as grammar and fluency. Transcripts can occasionally mishear an accent or a name, and the hiring team has your recording as well as the transcript.
Other apps and websites are not allowed during the interview.
The rules you see before you start ask you not to switch tabs, open other windows, leave the camera for long periods, or use AI-generated answers. Anything flagged is shared with the hiring team for review. The rules do not mention notes, so if you are unsure, ask the company that invited you.
Use the “Need Help?” button at the bottom right of the page, or email contact@flowmingo.ai. To get you an answer on the first reply, include:
- The email address you are using for the interview.
- A screenshot or screen recording of what you are seeing.

Your device and setup
What you need, how to fix camera, microphone or browser problems, and how to get another attempt.
You need a stable internet connection, a working camera and microphone, and a quiet space.
Use a desktop with Chrome if available. Nothing needs installing. Standard email sign-up requires a password and email verification; eligible company-branded interview links ask for your name and verify your email with a code, without a password.
This is usually a browser permission issue. Try these 3 steps:
- Select the camera icon in your browser's address bar and allow access for Flowmingo.
- Check that your microphone is not muted in your computer's sound settings.
- Fully close Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet, which can block your camera or microphone, then reload the page.
If you encounter any performance issues, we recommend trying these steps in order:
- Clear your browser's cache and cookies.
- Try opening the interview link in an incognito or private browsing window.
- Switch to a different web browser (e.g., if you're using Safari, try Chrome).
- If possible, try completing the interview on a different computer.
You can ask for another attempt.
Contact the hiring company, or our support team at contact@flowmingo.ai, with the role you are applying for. They can add an attempt to your original interview link, so you can open the same link again. Please do not start over with a different email address, because that attempt would not be connected to your application.
Your answers so far are saved.
Reopen your interview link on a stable connection, and the interview continues from where you left off, with the time you had left. If your time ran out before you could return, contact our support team at contact@flowmingo.ai with the email address you used, and they can help.

About Flowmingo and AI interviews
What Flowmingo is, who decides on your application, and how your data is handled.
Flowmingo is the platform a company uses to run its first-round interviews.
If a company has invited you, you open their link and answer their questions on camera, in your own time. The company receives your recording, transcript and scored report, and taking the interview is always free for you.
No, never.
The interview itself is completely free for all candidates. We do offer optional, paid features like the ability to retake a question or view your detailed AI assessment results, but these are not required to complete your application.
Companies use Flowmingo to assist their recruiting teams, not to replace them.
The AI helps manage the early stages of screening, which saves recruiters significant time and reduces their administrative workload.
This ensures every applicant gets the same fair chance to be assessed, and it allows the hiring team to focus on more in-depth, later-stage interviews with qualified candidates. The final hiring decisions are always made by people.
Your interview is recorded and transcribed, and the recording, transcript and scored report are shared with the company you applied to.
Flowmingo stores this record on that company's behalf, and the company owns its candidate data. How Flowmingo handles personal data is set out in full in the privacy policy at flowmingo.ai.
No.
The AI scores your answers against the requirements the company set, and writes down the reasons for each score. The hiring team at that company reviews your recording, transcript and scores, and decides who moves forward, because Flowmingo does not make hiring decisions. For news about your application, please contact the company you applied to.
Yes.
Your recording, transcript and scored report go to the hiring team at the company you applied to, and they use them to decide on the next step. The team can read everything you said and see the reasons behind each score, so the AI's score is never the only thing they see.
No.
Your score comes from your answers, taken from a transcript, and from your CV if you sent one, and nothing about your face, expressions or appearance is scored. The video is checked only for signs such as a second person on camera or your face leaving the frame. The hiring team can review those signs, and they never change your score.
Your recording, transcript and report stay with the company you applied to, as part of its hiring record.
Flowmingo stores them on that company's behalf, and the company owns and controls them. To ask about your data, contact that company, or email contact@flowmingo.ai and our team will help. The privacy policy at flowmingo.ai/privacy-policy explains how personal data is handled.
