Why Flowmingo

Real code from every candidate. Without a coding platform bill.

  • $0for unlimited technical tests

Technical tests sit on the Free plan, with every other assessment and a full ATS. Pair them with CV evaluation or an AI interview in one project.

  • Hiddentest cases decide the score

Candidates run sample tests while they work. Your hidden cases, their inputs and expected output stay with your team.

  • AI-draftedproblems, checked in a sandbox

Give it your job description or the skills you need, and a difficulty from easy to very hard. You edit anything before it goes out.

  • 1board for every stage

A candidate's technical test score shows in their row on the hiring board, next to the rest of their results.

How it works

A coding test, in four steps.

No problem bank to write, and no code to run on your own machine.

  1. 1

    Describe the role

Paste the job or pick the skills, and choose a difficulty. AI generates problems and checks them in a sandbox.

  2. 2

    Tune the problems

Edit the statement, the sample tests and the hidden test cases, and weight each case. Set how long each question gets.

  3. 3

    Send it out

Email invites with your own template, import a CSV of candidates, or share a link.

  4. 4

    Read the results

See the score, the questions solved, the test cases passed, the code that was graded, and how the candidate compares with others on the same test.

Build

Problems from your job description. Tests only you can see.

Describe the role and AI drafts the problems, with sample tests the candidate can run and hidden test cases they cannot. Add a debugging question, ask for a few more, or edit every case by hand.

  • Difficulty from easy to very hard
  • Sample tests the candidate sees, hidden tests they do not
  • A weight on every test case, 1 by default
  • Each problem verified in a sandbox before you see it

Integrity

Signals, not guesses. Every one on the record.

Candidates share their camera, microphone and screen, and the session is recorded. Pasting, large copies, switching away, changing language and disallowed keystrokes are logged for your team. Nothing is blocked, and no time is taken off.

  • Camera, microphone and screen share, with a consent step
  • Paste, large copy, tab switch, language switch and illegal keystroke signals
  • An AI-prohibited watermark when you switch AI assistance off
  • Signals are shown to your team, not to the candidate

Results

The score, and the code behind it.

A percentage alone hides a lot. Each result shows the questions solved, the test cases passed, the minutes used, and every case against the code that was graded, plus a percentile against everyone on the same test.

  • Score and percentage, questions solved and cases passed
  • Per-case results next to the submitted code
  • A percentile among attempts on the same test
  • The score on the hiring board, with a score filter

Frequently asked questions

What people ask before they start.

What do candidates need to take a Technical Test?

A desktop or laptop with a mouse or trackpad, and a webcam, microphone and screen share, plus a short consent step. The test is not available on phones or tablets.

Which programming languages are supported?

You choose from the languages available when you build the test. Availability is checked live for each language, so you only see the ones that can run today.

Can candidates run their code?

Yes. They can run it with their own input, run the sample tests, and submit. The hidden test cases only run on submission and are never shown to them.

How do you handle cheating?

Candidates share their camera, microphone and screen, and the session is recorded. Pasting, large copies, switching tabs, changing language and disallowed keystrokes are logged as signals for your team. Nothing is blocked and no time is deducted.

Can I ban AI assistance?

You can switch AI assistance off for a test, and candidates see an AI-prohibited watermark while they take it. It is off by default.

Do candidates see their results?

Only if you choose to share them. They are hidden by default.

How is it scored?

Against the test cases, each with a weight. The report shows the score, the questions solved, the cases passed and the minutes used, with a percentile against others on the same test.

Is it free for unlimited candidates?

Yes. Unlimited technical tests are on every plan, including Free. The feature is still in beta, so some parts, such as a sample result for candidates, are still coming.
