Hireflix reviews: 675 ratings, the real price and the fine print

Flowmingo Editorial TeamFlowmingo Editorial Team14 mins read
Hireflix reviews cover: the headline 'Hireflix reviews skip who can buy the $900 plan' above a white Hireflix review card with a 5.0 score from 675 ratings, 5 orange stars, bars for 662 five-star and 13 four-star ratings, and a small line reading…

You have 90 applicants and 1 week to build a shortlist. The Hireflix reviews you open show 5.0 stars and a starting price of $75 or $150 a month.

The stars are earned: 662 of 675 ratings on Capterra and G2 give 5 stars. But those pages skip the Hireflix pricing rules, and the rules decide what you actually pay.

A team hiring contractors or a company of 300 people cannot buy either published plan, and the pricing page sends agencies to Custom too. The contractor rule sits in section 7.5 of the Terms, not on the plan cards.

And if nobody scores the answers, those 90 applicants are 15 hours of video your team watches before the shortlist exists.

So we read what Hireflix reviews skip: the Terms, the plan data in its own API and 7 years of archived pricing pages. We sell a competing product, so every number links to a source.

This guide works through it in 3 moves: what the reviews really cover, what each plan allows, and which tool fits the way you hire. Where Hireflix is the better buy, we say so.

Key takeaways

  • What do Hireflix reviews say? 5.0 stars from 675 ratings on Capterra and G2, with 662 at 5 stars and none below 4. Ease of use and fast support lead the praise.
  • How much does Hireflix cost? $900 a year for companies under 50 people and $1,800 for 50 to 250. Monthly billing doubles that to $150 or $300 a month.
  • Who cannot buy the published plans? Teams hiring contractors or freelancers, companies over 250 people and anyone texting candidates outside the US and Canada need a Custom quote, and the pricing page lists agencies under Custom.
  • Is Hireflix really unlimited? The page says unlimited responses, but its own plan data has set 5,000 candidates a month since mid-2024, and 15 in the trial.
  • Does Hireflix score candidates with AI? No. Your team watches and rates every answer: about 15 hours of video for 90 applicants answering 5 questions of about 2 minutes each.

1. What do Hireflix reviews say, and do they reflect a team like mine?

Hireflix reviews are close to perfect: 5.0 from 257 ratings on Capterra and 5.0 from 418 on G2, with none below 4 stars. Most come from small companies, so they describe a small team's experience best.

We counted the star breakdowns on archived copies, because both sites block automated reading. Capterra, archived on 5 October 2026, shows 247 ratings at 5 stars and 10 at 4.

G2, archived on 8 February 2026, shows 415 at 5 stars and 3 at 4. That makes 662 of 675 at 5 stars, or 98%. G2's count has grown since, and the Hireflix pricing page now shows 437.

Hireflix reviews on Capterra and G2: 662 of 675 ratings give 5 stars and 13 give 4 stars

Star breakdown: 662 of 675 ratings on Capterra and G2 give 5 stars, 13 give 4 stars, and 0 give 3, 2 or 1 star.

On G2, 262 of 418 reviewers work at companies with 50 or fewer people, 137 at mid-sized firms and 18 above 1,000. Capterra puts small businesses at 85% of its reviewers.

This means the 5.0 says little about a 2,000-person employer or a staffing desk.

1.1 What do reviewers complain about?

The complaints are few and small, and most concern the format, not the software. G2 tags 55 reviews for ease of use and 38 for time saved.

Against that, G2 tags 3 reviews for email issues, 3 for question visibility, 2 for integration and 2 for editing. G2's own summary adds that some candidates find the one-way format impersonal.

On Capterra, 1 reviewer in March 2026 says some invites landed in junk mail. Another, in September 2026, wants "better transcription and summary options" and says people still need a lot of explaining.

The junk-mail complaint is the one to act on. Before you invite everyone, send the invite to 10 test addresses at Gmail and Outlook and check which folder it lands in.

A detail on the Capterra listing is also wrong: it marks Hireflix as having a free version. The Hireflix Terms call it "a paid service", and the pricing page offers a trial, not a free plan.

2. Is Hireflix legit and safe to send my candidates to?

Yes, Hireflix S.L. is a registered Barcelona company with a pricing page archived since December 2019. In September 2026 it announced a completed independent security audit.

Section 1 of its Terms of Use names HIREFLIX, S.L., with an office on Travessera de Gracia and an entry in the Barcelona commercial register. Section 11 puts contracts under Spanish law and Barcelona courts.

On security, Hireflix announced on 3 September 2026 a completed Type II independent security audit with zero exceptions. It had held the Type I report since 2022, and shares the attestation letter and the report's first 2 sections on request.

The pricing page also lists single sign-on, audit logs and automatic deletion of candidate videos. Its status page showed every service online on 25 October 2026.

The question matters to you because your candidates ask it first. Google suggests "is hireflix a scam" and "is hireflix safe" next to "is hireflix legit". Those searches most likely come from people who received an invite, since "hireflix interview" (880 a month) and "hireflix login" (210) far outnumber every buyer search.

Is hireflix legit searches against buyer searches: 90 a month, against 40 for reviews and 30 for pricing

Monthly Google searches: hireflix interview 880, its interview questions 720, login 210 and is hireflix legit 90. Hireflix reviews get 40, hireflix pricing 30 and hireflix alternatives 20.

Google rounds volumes this small into buckets, so read the 90 searches for "is hireflix legit" and 40 for "hireflix reviews" as a ratio, not exact counts.

The fix costs you 1 email. Before the invite goes out, tell candidates from your own address that the link is coming, what it is for and how long it takes. Copy this one and send it the day before:

Subject: Your [Role] video interview link arrives tomorrow

Hi [First name], tomorrow you will get a link from [interviews.yourcompany.com] for a short recorded interview for [Role]. It is our first-round step: [5] questions, up to [3] minutes each, about [15] minutes in all.

It works on a phone or laptop, with no app or account. If anything looks wrong, reply to this email.

[Your name], [Title], [Company]

Hireflix also supports custom domains and your own branding, so the invite looks like it came from you.

3. How much does Hireflix cost for a company of my size?

Hireflix pricing is $75 a month billed yearly ($900) under 50 employees, and $150 a month billed yearly ($1,800) for 50 to 250. Monthly billing doubles both.

Both plans include unlimited users, unlimited positions and every feature, per the pricing page and its plan data on 25 October 2026. The Terms add VAT on top.

Above 250 employees you need the Custom plan, priced "case-by-case" on interviews completed per month, their length and SMS or WhatsApp use. New companies under 2 years old and NGOs can ask for 20% off the first year.

The yearly price has not moved since December 2019, but who qualifies for it has.

In December 2019, and again in October 2022, Medium covered companies of 100 to 1,000 people. Since June 2023 it stops at 250, so a 400-person company that once paid the Medium price now needs a quote.

Hireflix pricing history: the $150 Medium plan covered up to 1,000 employees in 2019 and up to 250 since 2023

Medium plan size limit: up to 1,000 employees in Dec 2019, Aug 2020 and Oct 2022, and 500 in Jun 2021. Since Jun 2023 it stops at 250, at the same price.

These Internet Archive copies are foundational records, older than 2 years, of what the page said. None of the Hireflix reviews we read mentions this history.

3.1 Which teams have to buy the Custom plan?

Section 7.5 of the Terms sets a rule that none of the top-ranking review pages we could read mentions. Small and Medium are "only allowed" for companies screening candidates they "will then hire on a full-time basis".

Hiring contractors or freelancers does not qualify. Small and Medium also leave out SMS or WhatsApp invites outside the US and Canada, and the pricing page lists recruitment agencies under Custom.

Say you run a 12-person staffing agency that places nurses with 4 hospital clients. You have fewer than 50 employees, so the page suggests Small, but agencies sit under Custom.

The Terms give their own example: a 5-person company that screens teachers it then hires as freelancers is "only eligible to a Custom plan".

Hireflix pricing rules: who can buy Small or Medium and who needs a Custom quote

Which plan applies: full-time hires under 50 employees get Small at $900 a year, and 50 to 250 get Medium at $1,800. Over 250 employees, contractors, freelancers and agencies need a Custom quote.

Ask for the Custom quote before the trial ends, because the price is set case by case. Bring 3 numbers to that call: interviews completed per month, their length, and how many candidates you text outside North America.

4. Hireflix reviews disagree on limits: is Hireflix unlimited if we screen thousands a month?

Not quite. The pricing page sells unlimited responses, but the plan data behind it has set 5,000 candidates a month for Small and Medium since mid-2024.

Hireflix publishes its plan list through a public API anyone can query without a key. Each plan's CANDIDATES_PER_MONTH setting read 5,000 for Small and Medium on 25 October 2026.

Foundational archived copies of the pricing page show that setting at unlimited in March 2024 and at 5,000 by June 2024. The page still says "Unlimited Interview responses".

The Hireflix reviews that rank disagree on this. VoxScreen's comparison says Hireflix "sells unlimited volume at a flat rate", while Hirevire's review warns of "monthly interview caps". Neither names the 5,000 setting.

A small team hiring a few roles a month will rarely reach 5,000. But a customer quoted on the same pricing page says it runs "+4000 interviews a month", so a busy month can come close.

Hireflix argues against caps itself. Its February 2026 pricing guide sells "unlimited jobs, users, and interviews", and says 2,000 interviews a month would exceed a rival's cap "nearly sevenfold".

For example, say your 200-person firm runs a graduate intake and invites 6,000 applicants in the same month for full-time roles. That is 1,000 above the setting, so ask Hireflix in writing what happens past 5,000 before you plan the campaign.

We could not test whether the app enforces it. So get 3 answers on paper: is it enforced, what happens to invite 5,001, and does a peak month move you to Custom. A volume ceiling you learn about in week 3 of a hiring drive costs more than one you price in advance.

5. Can I trial Hireflix on a real role before paying for it?

Yes, for 1 month with no credit card, and there is no free plan after it. The trial's plan data allows 15 candidates a month, so test it on 1 real role, not your whole pipeline.

The homepage FAQ asks for a name, company, email and password, and gives every feature "for 30 days without the need for a credit card".

The trial grew from 2 weeks to 1 month between October 2022 and June 2023, per archived pricing pages. In the API's plan list, the trial carries the same features as Small but CANDIDATES_PER_MONTH reads 15.

Pilot it on 1 open role with at least 30 applicants, the minimum our pilot guide uses. Ask Hireflix to raise the trial's 15-candidate limit first. Invite all 30 on day 1 and track who finishes and your review time.

The limit matters because 15 says little about a 200-applicant role, and we could not test whether the app stops invite 16. Our automated first round interviews guide shows what to measure in a 2-week pilot.

Know what happens if you pay and then stop. The Terms give 14 calendar days to withdraw from a new contract and get every payment back. Section 8.2 drops that right once the service has started with your consent, so ask Hireflix in writing whether it applies before you pay.

The plan data sets both paid plans to renew automatically. After you cancel, you lose access to the interviews until you subscribe again. Hireflix deletes all data after 12 months without a new subscription, so download the videos you must keep before you cancel.

6. Will Hireflix score candidates with AI, or must my team watch every answer?

No. Hireflix records and transcribes answers but does not score candidates, and its own HireVue comparison lists "No AI scoring" next to transcripts and smart reminders.

This is a deliberate choice, not a gap Hireflix hides. Its February 2026 pricing guide says Hireflix "doesn't score candidates with opaque AI models". Its HireVue comparison lists "Limited AI Analytics" among its own cons.

Every answer goes to a person on your team, who rates it, leaves comments and shares it by link. That suits a team whose legal review would object to automated scoring, because every judgement stays with people.

The cost shows up in review time. Take 90 applicants who each answer 5 questions in about 2 minutes: that is 900 minutes, or 15 hours of video.

Hireflix lets reviewers speed playback up, but at 1.5 times speed it is still 10 hours before anyone builds a shortlist. Transcripts make skimming faster, yet someone still reads all 90.

Rivals now sell scoring as standard, which means the choice is no longer price alone. Hirevire's pricing page puts AI scorecards on every plan, and Willo lists transcription and summaries. The Capterra reviewer who asked for "better transcription and summary options" wanted exactly this.

How Flowmingo helps

If you want a score beside the recording, Flowmingo works the other way round. Each applicant takes an AI interview in their own time, in 60+ languages. You get back the recording, the transcript and a scored evaluation, and the Free plan runs unlimited AI interviews.

7. How does a Hireflix interview work, and will it connect to our ATS?

You record or type questions, set thinking and answer times, and invite candidates by email, CSV upload or a shared link. Hireflix lists 16 native ATS integrations, plus Zapier, Make and a GraphQL API with webhooks.

You can also set retakes per question, add an intro and outro video, your branding and your own domain, and let Hireflix send reminders.

Candidates need no app, login or registration. The interview runs in main browsers on phones, tablets and computers, in 17 interview languages, including English, Spanish and French.

Hirevire's Hireflix review, a rival's page, says candidates must create an account and that Hireflix lacks AI transcription. The Hireflix pricing page says the opposite on both, and we trust the vendor on its own features.

Candidates are cooler on the format than the Hireflix reviews from recruiters suggest. On r/recruitinghell, 10 posts from August 2022 to August 2026 name Hireflix, and 1 calls a one-way request "mildly scammy".

That is a format problem, because every one-way tool faces it. Hireflix lets you add an intro video, so record 60 seconds of the hiring manager naming the role and what happens next. A real face makes the link look less like a scam to a wary candidate.

7.1 What do the integrations and API cover?

The integrations page names 16 native connections, most set up in under 1 minute. They include Lever, Greenhouse, Workable, BambooHR, Ashby, Teamtailor, SmartRecruiters and JazzHR.

The lists disagree: the pricing page names 11 ATSs, and G2 shows 12 integrations, including eRecruiter, Tellent and WordPress. If your ATS matters, ask for a demo of that exact connection.

The public API has 3 endpoints. The first handles sign-up, login and plan information without a key, and /me manages positions and candidates with an API key.

The third, /interview, lets you build your own candidate interface. For example, if your ATS is missing, create 1 position per job through /me and invite each candidate to it. A webhook then posts each finished interview back to your system.

8. Hireflix vs HireVue: which fits our first-round screening and budget?

Hireflix fits a first round of recorded answers that people review, at a published flat price. HireVue adds live interviews and AI-scored assessments on a quoted contract; 1 FDA order renewed it at $49,950 a year in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Hireflix makes the case itself. Its homepage says it focuses "on one thing and one thing only", and its HireVue comparison lists "No Live Interviews" among its own cons. The same page tells buyers to consider HireVue for live interviews or advanced AI assessment.

HireVue publishes no prices. That US Food and Drug Administration order is 75F40121P00148 on USAspending.gov.

Vendr, a software buying service, puts the median HireVue buyer at $20,900 a year. So treat the FDA's figure as the upper end for 1 team, because federal security approvals may sit in that price.

At that median, 1 year of HireVue pays for more than 11 years of Hireflix Medium, billed yearly. The FDA's year pays for more than 27.

The table draws on Hireflix's pages, the federal record and Vendr.

What you are buying Hireflix HireVue
Published price Yes, flat by company size No, quote only
A public yearly figure $1,800, Medium list price $49,950, FDA renewal
Median buyer (Vendr) Not listed $20,900
One-way video interviews Yes Yes
Live video interviews No Yes
AI scoring No, transcripts only Yes, AI assessments

Choose by the job, not the brand. For recorded first-round answers that people review, Hireflix costs a fraction of the price.

If you need validated assessments and live interviews in 1 enterprise contract, Hireflix will not replace HireVue. Our automated interview tools guide sorts the wider market by what each tool automates.

9. What are the Hireflix alternatives with published prices for my team?

At least 3 Hireflix alternatives publish a price, from $468 a year for 1 job (Hirevire Essentials) to $3,799 (Willo Enterprise). VidCruiter shows a request form instead of prices, and HireVue sells on quotes only.

We read each vendor's pricing page on 25 October 2026 and priced 1 year for a 120-person company hiring full-time staff. The figure compares price and limits, not quality, so test the 2 or 3 that fit your volume on a real role.

Hireflix alternatives for a 120-person company: 1 year costs $1,188 to $3,799 on published plans

A year for 120 people: Willo Enterprise from $3,799, Hireflix Medium $3,600 monthly or $1,800 yearly. Spark Hire's video list price starts at $2,988, Willo Lite costs $1,416 for 2 roles and Hirevire Professional $1,188.

Paid yearly, Hireflix sits in the cheaper half. Each rival caps something different, and the cap matters more than the headline price.

Hirevire Essentials costs $39 a month billed yearly ($468 a year) for 1 job, 1 user and 300 interviews a year. Professional costs $99 a month billed yearly, or $1,188, for 5 jobs, 5 users and 1,200 interviews a year, with a 7-day trial.

Willo Lite bills $59 (£49) per live role a month, for up to 5 live roles and 150 candidates per role. With 2 roles open all year, that is $1,416, and Willo Enterprise starts at $3,799 (£2,999) a year.

Spark Hire's video plan starts at $249 a month billed annually, or $2,988 a year. Its pricing FAQ says the price varies by company size, so a 120-person company may get a higher quote. Buyers on Vendr pay a median of $5,389 a year.

Then decide how much judging you want the software to do, because that changes your review hours more than the price does. Hireflix leaves every judgement to your team. Spark Hire's pricing page lists AI Video Review on its Recruit tiers, which scores submissions "against key factors", so ask whether a video-plan quote includes it.

Its help center, updated 2 September 2026, says that review scores English answers only. Hirevire scores answers against your rubric, and Willo summarises them.

If your managers insist on watching every answer, scores save little. But at a busier 300 applicants a month and 10 minutes each, 1 recruiter faces 50 hours of review a score can shorten. Our AI interview cost per candidate guide prices Spark Hire and Hireflix per interview at 3 volumes.

10. After reading Hireflix reviews, is Hireflix worth it for my team?

Yes, if you are a company under 250 people hiring full-time staff and you want people, not AI, to judge every answer. It is a weaker fit for agencies, contractor hiring and teams that want scores.

Hireflix is good at what it does, and the reviews are earned. A small nonprofit on Capterra used it to narrow more than 90 applicants. A G2 reviewer thanks the co-founder and CEO, Antonio Gonzalez, by name.

Your answer depends on 3 facts about how you hire: company size, who you hire, and where you text candidates.

  • Buy Hireflix if you hire full-time staff, have fewer than 250 people and want your team to watch every answer.
  • Ask for a Custom quote first if you are an agency, hire contractors or freelancers, or text candidates outside the US and Canada.
  • Look elsewhere if you need live interviews, AI scoring or other assessments in the same place.

The trade-off is time, because your team still watches or reads every answer. At 90 candidates a month and 10 minutes each, that is 15 hours a month.

That takes less time than 15-minute phone screens, which would run to 22.5 hours for the same 90 candidates, but it is not zero. If you are on Hireflix today and it works, keep it, because switching costs more than any saving on a small plan.

If you are about to buy, check the 3 rules against your hiring first.
