The short answer
Manatal is more than a candidate-enrichment tool. Its current documentation describes an AI Interviewer with configurable questions, grading criteria and recorded video answers. It sits inside a broader ATS and recruitment CRM, so an existing Manatal team can review interviews without creating a second job record[3,4].
Flowmingo starts with the interview and includes the hiring workflow. Recruiters configure questions and criteria, invite applicants, review scored evidence and move candidates through hiring stages. Unlimited interviews and team members are included on Free; paid plans add options such as downloads and branding.
The practical difference is how you buy and organize that workflow. Manatal combines paid recruiter access with an interview-credit package. Flowmingo does not charge for interview volume or recruiter seats. If your agency already relies on Manatal’s commercial CRM, evaluate the value of that existing process separately from the price of interviewing[1,2,4].
2 more differences worth knowing
The ATS price is not the interview price
Manatal’s per-user subscription and AI interview package are separate charges. Compare their combined cost with Flowmingo’s unlimited Free interviews, rather than quoting the base ATS price as the cost of AI screening[1,2].
See the detailBoth produce reviewable interview evidence
Manatal includes recordings, transcripts and an assessment. Flowmingo returns those evidence types with criterion scores and written reasons. Compare how quickly your team can explain a decision from an actual answer[3].

Pricing: what each one costs you
Add the recruiter subscription and the interview package before comparing costs.
Manatal publishes both monthly and annual subscription rates. Its support documentation separately lists AI Interviewer packages. The example below uses monthly billing consistently; annual plans have different payment and credit-allocation terms[1,2].
| What | Manatal | |
|---|---|---|
| Professional ATS | US$19/user/month monthly, or US$15/user/month equivalent billed yearly[1] | Free $0; Starter US$49/month; Growth US$99/month. AI interviews stay unlimited |
| Entry interview package | US$40/month for 20 completed interviews, in addition to the ATS[2] | Unlimited AI interviews on Free |
| Larger published package | US$360/month for 200 interviews; larger volumes require a quote[2] | No interview-volume charge |
| Two-recruiter monthly example | 2 × US$19 + US$40 = US$78/month, including 20 interviews[1,2] | US$0 for two team members and unlimited AI interviews |
| Interview-credit use | Completed interviews consume credits; each allowed retake consumes another[3] | No interview credits to purchase |
| Free evaluation | 14-day ATS trial; support table excludes the AI Interviewer add-on[1,2] | Ongoing Free plan, with no end date |
Separate recurring team cost from fluctuating interview demand. Adding recruiters changes a per-user bill even when applicant volume stays flat. A hiring campaign changes the interview package even if the team stays the same. Flowmingo’s free allowance separates neither activity into a paid meter, so you can invite a larger pool and add reviewers without repricing those two dimensions.
For an existing Manatal customer, the relevant incremental cost may be the interview package because the ATS subscription is already committed. For a new buyer, omitting the base subscription understates the purchase. Use both views when appropriate, and include optional branding, downloads, messaging or implementation in a separate line rather than treating software entry price as the whole recruiting budget.
Retakes affect the credit calculation. Manatal counts completed attempts, not merely links sent. A policy that allows applicants to try again can therefore change consumption. Its monthly credits expire at the reset; annual credits are allocated for the year. Decide how often your team expects retries before selecting the package[3].
Flowmingo's plans: Free is $0 with unlimited AI interviews. Starter ($49 a month) and Growth ($99 a month) add your brand on what you share, downloads, longer assessments and longer-kept interview videos. See pricing.
How these numbers were worked out
- Prices checked on 4 October 2026; currencies are US dollars.
- The US$78 example uses two Professional users on monthly billing and the smallest monthly interview package.
- No price at 500, 2,000 or 10,000 interviews is inferred from packages with lower published capacities.
- Annual equivalents are not monthly-cancelable subscription prices. Taxes and optional services are excluded.
The AI interview: an add-on inside Manatal or a free interviewing workflow
Manatal’s current guide describes a real AI interviewing workflow, not only profile enrichment. An administrator enables the add-on, then a recruiter creates the interview in a job. Flowmingo also turns role requirements into an interview that the recruiter can review before inviting anyone[3].

| What | Manatal | |
|---|---|---|
| Initial setup | Administrator activates the add-on and requests a credit plan[3] | Create a hiring project and configure its AI interview |
| Questions | Generate from the job description or write manually; up to 10[3] | 1-30 questions drafted from the job description; edit the questions and criteria before inviting |
| Evaluation standard | Expected answer or grading criteria attached to each question[3] | 0-10 per criterion with a written reason; overall score uses the importance you set |
| Interview availability | One active AI Interview per job; enabled or disabled by the recruiter[3] | Share the configured interview with applicants |
| Response format | Asynchronous video with a spoken AI interviewer[3] | The AI asks aloud and follows up; the applicant records video answers in their own time |
| Later changes | New applicants receive updated settings; completed interviews remain unchanged[3] | Review questions and criteria before opening the next applicant cohort |
Compare the assessment you can configure, not just the generated questions. Take a sales role requiring discovery, objection handling and negotiation judgment. A question about a successful sale should have criteria that distinguish the candidate’s own actions from the team’s result. In either tool, check that the question gives the applicant an opportunity to demonstrate the competency you later score.
An existing Manatal team may value keeping the interview in its current job. That operational convenience is different from evidence that its AI makes a better assessment. Run the same role brief in Flowmingo, inspect the generated questions and compare the resulting reports. Avoid changing question difficulty or the expected answer between products, because that would make the pilot difficult to interpret.
What your applicants experience
Applicants receive a link to the configured Manatal interview and complete recorded answers asynchronously. Flowmingo also lets applicants interview in their own time. Invitation delivery, interview format and report review are separate parts of this comparison[3].
Do not confuse a messaging channel with the interview itself. A WhatsApp invitation from Flowmingo leads to the interview; it does not mean the assessment is a WhatsApp chat or a telephone call. WhatsApp availability requires an enabled, eligible paid organization and sufficient messaging credits. Use that distinction when comparing how applicants discover the link and what equipment they need afterwards.
When testing Manatal’s retake configuration, decide whether you are measuring first-attempt performance or allowing practice. Tell applicants the policy before they begin. Then check that the reviewer can tell which attempt they are reading. Apply the same assessment policy when evaluating Flowmingo so the comparison reflects the tools rather than different candidate instructions.
| What | Manatal | |
|---|---|---|
| Start | Recruiter shares the job’s interview link[3] | Interview link and email; WhatsApp for enabled, eligible paid organizations with credits |
| Availability | AI interview runs while enabled for that job[3] | Applicant starts in their own time |
| Language configuration | Recruiter selects the interview language and voice[3] | 60+ spoken interview languages; applicants choose from the languages you allow |
| Published language list | Pricing names English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese[1] | 60+ interview languages |
| Retakes | Recruiter allows 0-5 retakes; each submitted attempt uses a credit[3] | Review the configured interview settings before sending invitations |
| Device preparation | Test the selected candidate flow on the intended device[3] | A phone or laptop browser, with a camera and microphone check before the interview |

What comes back after each interview
Manatal’s guide shows the assessment, full transcript and recording within the candidate profile. Flowmingo’s report likewise provides evidence behind the evaluation. The review task should include inspecting an answer that the AI interprets differently from a recruiter[3].
| What | Manatal | |
|---|---|---|
| Assessment output | Strengths, weaknesses and insights evaluated against configured criteria[3] | Scores, written reasons, strengths, gaps, recommendation and cohort percentile band |
| Original evidence | Full transcript and recorded interview[3] | Video recording and transcript, with the answer available alongside its evaluation |
| Review location | Candidate profile accessed from the job’s Interviews tab[3] | Candidate report in the hiring project |
| Retake history | Attempts appear separately, newest first[3] | Review the relevant interview submission and its report |
| Team contribution | Hiring-manager collaboration within the ATS[1] | Team notes, ratings and hiring stages |

Overall scoreUse the original answer to check a summary. A candidate may describe an unsuccessful project while demonstrating good judgment about what went wrong. A useful report preserves that distinction. Ask both reviewers to find the evidence for their conclusion and document disagreements instead of selecting the highest displayed number without reading the explanation.
For an agency, also rehearse the client handoff. Decide which evidence a client needs, which internal notes should remain private and whether a recording must be downloaded or shared. Manatal’s Guest Portal and Flowmingo’s report-sharing options deserve a workflow comparison on those exact requirements. The presence of an ATS alone does not answer who can see which report[4].
Integrations and workflow
| What | Manatal | |
|---|---|---|
| Recruiting pipeline | ATS with candidate records, custom pipelines and hiring-manager collaboration[1] | Built-in hiring stages, applicant records, notes and team ratings on every plan |
| Recruitment CRM | Client leads, commercial pipeline and placement/revenue workflow[4] | Hiring projects, candidate evidence and team collaboration |
| API and webhooks | Enterprise Plus in the published feature table[2] | API, webhooks and MCP on every plan |
| ATS handoff | Interview evidence stays in the Manatal job record[3] | REST API, webhooks and MCP for custom integrations on every plan |
| Team commercial unit | Paid recruiter users; hiring managers listed separately[1] | Unlimited team members, with Owner, Admin and Member roles |
| Branded client access | Premium Guest Portal is an add-on[1,4] | Plan-based branded sharing and career-page options |
Preserve a working commercial process when testing an interview tool. Manatal’s recruitment CRM covers client-facing activities as well as candidate records. A staffing agency can test Flowmingo’s interviewing without assuming that its sales pipeline should move at the same time. Define the handoff between the interview and the system that owns the client relationship.
Flowmingo provides API, webhooks and MCP for custom workflows. Check the current availability and setup requirements of any named ATS connection your team needs. A direct Manatal-to-Flowmingo connection needs its own scope and verification. Check candidate identifiers, job association, completion updates and report access with test records before relying on an automated transfer.

Scoring, oversight and candidate data
Check the actual permissions and data controls for your workflow
Manatal publishes a security statement and describes consent collection and candidate-data controls. These are useful procurement inputs; they do not establish that every configuration or hiring decision meets a legal requirement. Flowmingo’s applicable privacy terms and DPA should be reviewed for the same intended use[5].
Test access with a realistic reviewer role. A client or hiring manager may need one candidate’s evidence without access to every applicant or internal note. Verify that boundary using a test account, then test removal of access. This is more useful than treating a broad security badge as proof that your specific sharing process is configured correctly.
| What | Manatal | |
|---|---|---|
| Published security claim | Security page states SOC 2 Type II; request the current report and scope[5] | Request current certification evidence. A published DPA is a data contract, not a certification |
| Candidate consent | Email consent gathering and profile-level consent tracking described[5] | Published Data Processing Agreement and Privacy Policy; confirm retention and deletion requirements |
| Data requests | Published extraction, modification and permanent-deletion controls[5] | Confirm request handling and applicable retention terms |
| Single sign-on | Listed on Enterprise Plus[1,2] | Confirm the authentication requirements for the intended team |
| Hiring decision | Recruiter reviews the AI assessment with the candidate record[3] | Recruiters review the evidence and decide who moves forward |
Which should you choose?
| If you are | Pick | Why |

| You want interview transcripts and recordings | Either | Both provide those evidence types; compare their review experience[3]. |
| Several recruiters and hiring managers need access | Either | Flowmingo includes unlimited team members; Manatal distinguishes paid users from hiring managers[1]. |
| You want interviews inside a job already in Manatal | Manatal | Its add-on is managed from the job’s Interviews tab[3]. |
| You need APIs without a higher subscription tier | Flowmingo | API, webhooks and MCP are included on every plan. |
| You are evaluating scoring quality | Either | Use a common rubric and review original answers. No comparative accuracy benchmark is claimed. |
Moving from Manatal: test one role first
Test one job before changing the system that holds your candidate or client history. Keep the interview pilot separate from a full ATS migration.
- Define the role and the evidenceUse the same competencies and expected-answer standard. Review generated questions before either tool reaches an applicant.
- Compare the complete interview billRecord recruiter seats, completed attempts and retakes. For Manatal include both ATS and add-on charges; for Flowmingo identify any optional paid features.
- Review and share the resultAsk two reviewers to find evidence, add their judgment and share an appropriate report. Check client access where relevant.
- Connect only the workflow you needTest the candidate and job mapping. Preserve existing records and client relationships until the new handoff is verified.

Questions buyers ask
Does Manatal have an AI Interviewer?
Yes. Its current product documentation describes an automated asynchronous video interviewer inside job records. Treating Manatal as only candidate enrichment would omit that capability[3].
Does the base Manatal subscription include unlimited AI interviews?
No. The published support table lists AI Interviewer packages separately from the base subscription. Confirm the package and credit terms for your account[1,2].
Does Manatal’s free ATS trial include the AI Interviewer?
Its current feature-limit table marks AI Interviewer unavailable in the free trial. Ask for the appropriate product demonstration or enabled evaluation rather than assuming the ATS trial includes interview credits[2].
Can a team keep Manatal while evaluating Flowmingo?
Yes, a controlled pilot can keep existing ATS and CRM records in place while testing Flowmingo’s interview and report. Any automated data connection between the two needs a separately verified implementation.
