The short answer
Metaview now offers an AI Screening agent as well as interview notes. Screening conducts the conversation, asks follow-ups, supports role-play and returns rubric-based results. Notes and Reports support the wider human-interview and recruiting-intelligence workflow[1,2,3].
Flowmingo provides unlimited AI interviews on Free with recorded evidence and a hiring pipeline. Recruiters can inspect answers, criterion scores and written reasons together. Flowmingo also has an Interview Companion for recruiter-led browser calls; confirm its installation and availability for your team.
The meaningful comparison is Screening against AI interviewing, with Notes and Reports considered separately. Metaview’s published free and US$60 Pro allowances describe Notes, not an established Screening price. Flowmingo’s Free interview allowance is explicit, making it easier to evaluate ongoing screening volume[1,2].
3 more differences worth knowing
Metaview is no longer notes-only
Its Screening agent runs the candidate conversation itself, including follow-ups, role-play and technical reasoning. A comparison based only on recording human interviews would miss the current product[1].
See the detailNotes pricing does not establish Screening pricing
The Notes FAQ publishes a free allowance and US$60/user/month Pro plan. Confirm Screening entitlements separately rather than treating those figures as the price of an AI interviewer[2].
See the detailDecide whether you need cross-conversation analysis
Metaview Reports can filter conversations, extract topics, identify trends and send alerts. Evaluate those organization-wide questions separately from whether an individual interview report is useful[3].

Pricing: what each one costs you
Separate the Screening purchase from the Notes subscription.
Metaview’s Notes FAQ lists Free at 25 calls per user each month, with access to calls from the last 14 days. Notes Pro is US$60 per user per month with unlimited calls, while Enterprise pricing is available on request. Those published terms apply to Notes; the reviewed Screening page does not establish the equivalent interview allowance or rate[1,2].
| What | Metaview | |
|---|---|---|
| AI Screening rate | Confirm current Screening pricing and allowance[1] | Free US$0; Starter US$49/month; Growth US$99/month; AI interviews stay unlimited |
| Notes Free | 25 calls per user each month[2] | Unlimited AI interviews on Free; Companion terms are separate |
| Free Notes access | Access to calls from the last 14 days[2] | Free retains the latest 300 interview videos for 30 days; scores and transcripts remain available |
| Notes Pro | US$60/user/month with unlimited calls[2] | Core AI interviews and team members remain unlimited on Free |
| Notes Enterprise | Custom price; additional support and security[2] | Confirm enterprise requirements for your workspace |
| Other modules | Confirm Reports and other agent entitlements separately[3] | Compare the published company plan features |
| Recruiter seats | Notes Pro is priced per user[2] | Unlimited team members; Owner, Admin and Member roles |
A free notetaker and a free AI interviewer remove different costs. The first captures a conversation a recruiter still conducts. The second performs the screening conversation without requiring that recruiter appointment. Metaview offers both product categories, but the Notes free allowance should not be copied into a table as though it guarantees free autonomous Screening[1,2].
If your team wants both, request a proposal that identifies Screening volume, Notes users, Reports access and retention. Include users who only review evidence as well as those who conduct interviews. That distinction can materially change the value of a per-user plan, particularly when hiring managers participate less frequently than recruiters.
Flowmingo’s unlimited Free AI interview allowance is a straightforward screening baseline. Paid plans add downloads, report branding, career-page customization, longer assessments and longer video retention. Interview Companion is a separate human-interview workflow with setup availability to confirm; do not extend the unlimited Free interview claim to it without an explicit entitlement.
Flowmingo's plans: Free is $0 with unlimited AI interviews. Starter ($49 a month) and Growth ($99 a month) add your brand on what you share, downloads, longer assessments and longer-kept interview videos. See pricing.
The AI interview: adaptive screening, role-play and spoken reasoning
Metaview Screening can be built from a job post or an existing screening call. Recruiters set the rubric and preview individual questions or the full conversation before inviting applicants. The voice agent asks follow-ups and can answer candidate questions[1].

| What | Metaview | |
|---|---|---|
| Interviewer | Adaptive voice agent conducts the screening[1] | Spoken AI questions and follow-ups; applicants record video answers in their own time |
| Setup input | Job post or an existing screening call[1] | Generate 1-30 questions from the job description, then edit questions and evaluation criteria |
| Preview | Individual-question or full-call preview[1] | Review the role questions and criteria before inviting |
| Follow-ups | Questions adapt to the candidate’s responses[1] | AI follows up on applicant answers |
| Role-play | Agent plays a character in role-specific scenarios[1] | Configure situational questions and inspect the actual interaction |
| Technical reasoning | Shows code for verbal explanation, debugging and suggested fixes[1] | Technical Tests with executable coding questions and sandbox verification, alongside AI interviews |
| Decision criteria | Employer sets requirements and scoring rubric[1] | Criterion importance informs the overall score |
Code discussion and code execution are different assessment tasks. Metaview describes displaying code and asking candidates to reason about it aloud. That can reveal understanding, but it should not be represented as proof of a runnable coding environment. Flowmingo’s Technical Tests execute coding questions; its AI interview can separately explore the candidate’s explanation. Match the chosen task to the evidence the role requires.
Role-play also needs a clear rubric. For a support position, decide whether you are evaluating problem diagnosis, empathy, escalation judgment or all three. Ask the agent to respond to an unexpected but reasonable answer and inspect the resulting score. A natural conversation is useful only when it exposes job-relevant behavior and preserves enough evidence for a reviewer to understand the result.
What your applicants experience
Metaview Screening uses a shareable link or ATS-stage invitation and works on phone or desktop. The product advertises company branding, customized invitation emails and a welcome video. Its FAQ names supported languages rather than requiring the reader to infer a count from animated page counters[1].
Test the language and scenario together. A basic introduction may work well while a specialized role-play or technical explanation exposes vocabulary problems. Include the industry terminology, accent and device mix of the actual applicant pool. Ask candidates to explain a complex answer and interrupt naturally, then inspect whether the transcript preserves the meaning needed for evaluation.
For invitations, Flowmingo offers email and an eligible paid-organization WhatsApp option using messaging credits. That WhatsApp message opens a browser interview; it is not a chat assessment. For Metaview, test the ATS-stage trigger and customized email together so applicants receive one clear instruction and a working route to support[1].
| What | Metaview | |
|---|---|---|
| Availability | Candidate starts the screen when convenient[1] | Applicant completes the interview in their own time |
| Device | Phone or desktop support[1] | Phone or laptop browser, with camera and microphone checks for the AI video interview |
| Languages | FAQ lists languages including English, Spanish, Mandarin and Vietnamese[1] | 60+ spoken interview languages; applicants choose from those you allow |
| Branding | Company logo, invitation-email customization and welcome video[1] | Paid career-page customization and report branding; session sponsorship removes candidate offers and Flowmingo branding |
| Invitation | ATS-stage connection or individual link[1] | Email invitations and reminders; WhatsApp invitations for enabled, eligible paid organizations, with messaging credits |
| Candidate questions | Voice agent can answer questions during the conversation[1] | Test the configured interview flow for your role |
| Optional camera | Video can be required for additional integrity signals[1] | Standard async AI interview records video answers |

What comes back after each interview
Each Metaview Screening call is recorded, transcribed and scored against the employer’s rubric. Notes adds structured outputs from human interviews, and Reports can analyze patterns across conversations. These three outputs should be evaluated for their different purposes[1,2,3].
| What | Metaview | |
|---|---|---|
| Screening evidence | Recorded call, transcript and rubric score[1] | Recording and transcript alongside criterion scores and written reasons |
| Hiring outcome | Human-made advance/reject decision syncs to ATS[1] | Recruiters review the evidence and decide who moves forward |
| Human notes | Templates, candidate summaries and ATS scorecard completion[2] | Interview Companion supports recruiter-led browser calls; confirm installation and availability for your team |
| Clips | Suggested or manually selected video snippets in Notes[2] | Report links on Free; downloads and branded sharing on paid plans; CSV export on Growth |
| Cross-call analysis | Filter conversations and extract specified topics[3] | Review candidate reports and hiring-stage records |
| Trends and alerts | Reporting trends and email alerts on matching conversations[3] | Confirm your organization-level reporting requirements |
| Practical tests | Displayed-code reasoning described for Screening[1] | Executable Technical Tests provide separate practical evidence |

Overall scoreA candidate score and an organization-wide trend should not be interpreted in the same way. The score supports a decision about a particular applicant against a job rubric. A report about compensation expectations or interview coverage helps the recruiting team understand its process. Check both against the underlying conversations, and avoid turning a trend from a small or selected sample into a conclusion about every candidate.
Integrations and workflow
| What | Metaview | |
|---|---|---|
| ATS integration | Published connections include Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever and Workday[2,4] | API, webhooks and MCP for custom integrations on every plan |
| Human meeting capture | Notes supports Meet, Teams, Webex and Zoom[2] | Companion supports browser Meet, Teams and Zoom; confirm availability |
| Botless notes | Dedicated app supports notetaking without a meeting bot[2] | Confirm Companion installation for the recruiter browser |
| Templates | User, team and workspace Notes templates[2] | Recruiter-controlled interview questions and evaluation criteria |
| Candidate workflow | Screening returns summary and human decision to ATS[1] | Built-in applicant tracking, hiring stages, notes and team review |
| Broader agents | Separate sourcing, review and reporting products in the platform[2] | Compare the specific hiring workflow you need |
Use the same test applicant across modules. After a Screen, verify what appears in the ATS, which permissions apply and whether a later interviewer can find the relevant answer. Then check how the Notes template and Reports filter interpret that conversation. A broad platform can reduce fragmented context, but it still needs reliable candidate matching and clear access controls. Flowmingo’s custom connection should be validated with the same field-level discipline.

Scoring, oversight and candidate data
Treat fraud signals and recorded conversations carefully
Metaview Screening advertises flags for potentially assisted or fraudulent answers and optional camera-based signals. Notes describes configurable opt-out language, retention and deletion controls. These features require a defined review process rather than an assumption that every flag is conclusive[1,2].
An unusual gaze or fluent answer is not enough to explain a hiring decision. Ask to see the evidence supporting a flag and define how a recruiter can clear it. Keep accommodation needs and assistive tools in the process. For recorded interviews, establish who can access clips, whether shared links remain usable after permission changes, and how a deletion request propagates to connected systems.
| What | Metaview | |
|---|---|---|
| Integrity flags | Potential AI-assisted or fraudulent responses can be flagged[1] | Inspect evidence and available assessment controls |
| Camera signals | Optional video can flag signs of scripts or second-screen reading[1] | Evaluate the actual recorded answer and job-related criteria |
| Human decision | Only a human advances or rejects a Screening candidate[1] | Recruiters review the evidence and decide who moves forward |
| Retention | Notes advertises configurable retention and deletion[2] | Free retains the latest 300 interview videos for 30 days; scores and transcripts remain available |
| Candidate notice | Notes describes configurable candidate opt-out language[2] | Review the applicable interview and recording notice |
| Contract evidence | Review the product-specific data and security terms[2] | Published Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement; confirm your retention and deletion requirements |

Moving from Metaview: test one role first
Separate the purchase into autonomous screening, human-interview capture and reporting. A short pilot should show which of those jobs actually improves your team’s decisions.
- Specify modules and limitsAsk for Screening volume, Notes seats, Reports access and retention in one clear proposal. Do not use a Notes allowance to estimate Screen capacity.
- Preview one real roleTest the full screening and a difficult individual question. Include the role-play or code-reasoning task if it will affect selection.
- Trace evidence through the workflowInspect the recorded answer, rubric score, human decision and ATS record. Check a later interview and a cross-call report if those modules are in scope.
- Review controls before expandingTest permissions, deletion, a questionable fraud flag and the support route for a candidate who needs an alternative format.

Questions buyers ask
Does Metaview conduct AI interviews or only take notes?
It does both through separate products. Screening is an autonomous voice agent, while Notes captures human interviews and Reports analyzes conversation data[1,2,3].
Does the US$60 Metaview price include AI Screening?
The reviewed Notes FAQ identifies US$60/user/month as Notes Pro pricing. It does not establish a Screening entitlement or rate; confirm those separately[2].
Does Metaview Screening execute candidate code?
The reviewed page describes displaying code for candidates to explain, find bugs or suggest fixes aloud. That is evidence of technical-reasoning support, not confirmation of a code-execution environment[1].
Can Metaview Screening reject applicants automatically?
Its product page says a human makes the advance or reject decision, which then syncs to the ATS[1].
Can Flowmingo help with human interviews too?
Flowmingo has an Interview Companion for recruiter-led browser calls. Confirm installation, availability and applicable terms; do not assume its entitlement is identical to the Free AI interview allowance.
