The short answer

Screenz automates the first interview and returns a ranked result to the hiring workflow. Its product page describes adaptive conversation, role-based scoring, transcripts and audio. Its broader positioning connects interview signals with post-hire feedback and hiring intelligence[1,3].

Flowmingo combines AI interview evidence with an included applicant pipeline. Employers configure questions and criteria, applicants complete the interview independently, and recruiters review recordings, transcripts and explained scores. AI interview volume, hiring projects and team members are unlimited on Free.

This is a comparison between two AI interview products, not an AI interviewer and a static questionnaire. Evaluate the evidence each conversation produces, then compare the cost of supporting your concurrent roles and integrations. A ten-screening free start and ongoing unlimited free interviewing are materially different commercial offers[1,2].

2 more differences worth knowing

  • Unlimited interviews can still have a role limit

Screenz’s paid Active Hiring package lists unlimited interviews but only two active roles. Flowmingo includes unlimited hiring projects on Free[2].

    See the detail
  • Both products ask follow-up questions

Screenz explicitly describes adaptive conversation. Compare the depth and relevance of the evidence, rather than assuming it is a one-way recording tool[1].

Pricing: what each one costs you

Compare concurrent roles and billing commitment, not only the interview count.

Screenz’s displayed annual prices are monthly equivalents with an upfront annual payment. Its page also offers monthly billing, but this comparison does not infer monthly rates from the advertised discount. Confirm the selected billing option and role allowance before purchase[2].

A role-based package can suit concentrated hiring and constrain a broad hiring calendar. A team interviewing many applicants for two recurring roles has a different requirement from a team opening ten small searches at once. Model the maximum number of simultaneous active roles, then ask how an archived, paused or reopened role is counted. Interview volume alone cannot answer that budget question.

For Flowmingo, estimate optional upgrades from the features the team needs, rather than adding a charge for more interviews or hiring projects. For Screenz, request a quote matching both the active-role count and the required integrations. The lowest visible price should not be used for a workflow that needs a higher package.

The ten-screening offer is useful for testing a small sample. It is not evidence of a recurring monthly free allowance. Use it to inspect the conversation and report; use a written package description to establish the cost of operating the workflow after the pilot.

Flowmingo's plans: Free is $0 with unlimited AI interviews. Starter ($49 a month) and Growth ($99 a month) add your brand on what you share, downloads, longer assessments and longer-kept interview videos. See pricing.

How these numbers were worked out
  • Prices and allowances checked on 4 October 2026.
  • Annual monthly equivalents are not month-to-month subscription prices.
  • No renewal frequency is inferred for the ten free screenings.
  • No per-interview price is invented for a subscription whose published limits are based on active roles.

The AI interview: compare what the follow-up actually uncovers

Screenz describes a real-time conversation that probes answers and scores against role-specific criteria. Flowmingo also asks spoken questions and follows up. The useful comparison is how each handles incomplete or ambiguous evidence, not whether either product has an AI label[1].

TimingOn-demand candidate completion[1]Set the whole interview up to 60 minutes, depending on your plan

Pilot a role with a clear distinction between a general claim and a demonstrated skill. For a support role, an applicant might say they are good at calming customers. The next question should help establish what they did, why they chose that action and what happened. Review the full exchange rather than judging the interview by the first question or its final score alone.

Include an answer that uses the right vocabulary but offers no concrete example. Then include a less polished answer with useful evidence. Check whether the report explains the distinction using the job criteria. This is a practical way to evaluate the reasoning available to a recruiter without claiming an unmeasured accuracy advantage for either product.

What your applicants experience

Both workflows let applicants complete an AI interview without arranging a recruiter call. The relevant candidate checks include invitation clarity, supported language, device requirements and access to help. Test the configured journey rather than assuming that the same conditions apply to every interview[1].

Measure completion in your own pilot. Record where applicants stop and whether they understand what to do next. Distinguish a delivery problem from a device problem, a confusing instruction or a deliberate decision not to continue. A vendor’s broad conversion or time-saving claim does not explain those individual cases.

Where WhatsApp matters, Flowmingo’s delivery option should be included in the requirements review. It needs an eligible paid organization, enablement and messaging credits; it is not a free unlimited messaging promise. For Screenz, ask which invitation and reminder channels are included in the exact connector and package you are evaluating.

What comes back after each interview

Screenz produces ranked recommendations with reasoning, transcript and audio. Flowmingo provides explained criterion scores and a broader candidate report. Both require a recruiter to inspect the evidence behind a recommendation[1].

A ranked list does not remove the need to understand the ranking. Review candidates near the proposed cutoff and identify what evidence separates them. Check whether a missed question, transcript error or irrelevant criterion could explain the difference. Recruiters should be able to make a different decision when the underlying evidence warrants it.

Screenz’s post-hire intelligence positioning raises an additional evaluation question: what outcome is being fed back, who supplies it and how consistently is it measured? A manager’s informal impression and a defined performance measure are not interchangeable. Ask for the actual configuration and evidence of its effect before treating a learning-loop claim as a demonstrated advantage[3].

Prove the integration with a complete round trip. Start from an application in the ATS, trigger the interview, complete it and check where the report, score and link appear. Repeat with an applicant who has two applications. Confirm which system owns status changes and how the integration handles a withdrawn candidate.

Do not reduce integration evaluation to a count of supported systems. A named connector can still differ in available fields, permissions, setup effort and plan eligibility. Flowmingo provides API, webhooks and MCP for custom workflows; confirm current availability and setup requirements for the ATS connection your team needs.

Scoring, oversight and candidate data

Integrity signals need context and a review path

Screenz describes flags for patterns such as copying, unusual delays and possible AI assistance. These are signals to investigate, not proof that an applicant cheated. Review the actual evidence and the product’s data terms before making a hiring decision[1,4].

Keep a suspicious signal separate from an unsupported accusation. An interrupted connection or accessibility aid can change the way an applicant interacts with an interview. Decide who reviews a flag, what evidence they can inspect and how the applicant can clarify an issue. Apply that process consistently to both platforms.

Moving from Screenz: test one role first

Compare one real role before moving an automated screening workflow. Keep the criteria stable while testing the conversation, report and integration.

  1. Count concurrent rolesUse the peak hiring calendar, not only average monthly interviews. Identify the Screenz package that actually covers the role count.
  2. Run a matched interview pilotUse the same role requirements and inspect follow-ups on both a detailed and a vague answer. Evaluate how each report supports recruiter review.
  3. Verify the evidence handoffTest candidate identity, the completed report, sharing permissions and status changes in the systems your team uses.
  4. Review terms before expandingConfirm billing commitment, connectors, data handling and any continued external services. Record the reasons for your decision from the pilot.

Questions buyers ask

Is Screenz an adaptive AI interviewer?

Yes. Its product page explicitly describes conversational interviews that ask follow-ups and score against role criteria. It should not be described as only a one-way recording tool[1].

Does Screenz’s unlimited interview allowance mean unlimited roles?

No. Its paid packages list active-role limits: two on Active Hiring, up to five on Hiring Pipeline and up to ten on Hiring Ops. Confirm how a role is counted in your contract[2].

Is the US$749 Screenz price a monthly commitment?

The reviewed pricing page displays US$749/month equivalent for Active Hiring with annual billing. It also offers monthly billing, but the annual figure should not be presented as the monthly-plan price[2].

Are Screenz’s ten free screenings an ongoing monthly allowance?

The public offer establishes ten free screenings with no credit card. It does not establish a recurring ten-screening monthly allowance. Flowmingo’s Free plan includes ongoing unlimited AI interviews[2].
